Universal Beauty Pageant
“What is Expected of an Universal Beauty Contestant“:
ALL contestants will be expected to demonstrate at all times the overall attitude to which Our Little Miss holds strong: "It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice!" Attitude is a very important part of this competition, so please treat others the same way you would like to be treated! At OLM we are a family, and we are going to create lasting memories for you and for everyone who you meet. We are a competition family that loves to have fun!!!
EACH STATE WINNER IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE WORLD PAGEANT IN JAN 2010.. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED THIS YEAR!
Areas of Competition:
Close-up appraisal/interview, Formal wear (formal knee-length dress (ages 0-12) /Floor length evening gown (ages 13 & up) and Dressy casual wear.
Clothing Guidelines:

Sunday best, a simple dress for younger ages, short skirt suit for older girls. This is a closed session with the judges, remember that this is when the judging officially begins and you only have one time to make a first impression
Formal Wear:
The judging at the competition will be of the highest, unexcelled judging quality with the judge’s panel using a consultation system. Judges Decisions Are Final! No posting of ballots, ratings, etc., will be done. The Director will receive the judges books and will be able to give you constructive comments that will enable you to make necessary changes before moving into the next level of competition. Party Dress/Evening gowns must be age appropriate. No side midriff or side cut-outs, indecent back exposure, & no split skirts above the knees in evening gowns. There is no set ruling on socks or panty hose for any age division. Consider outfit & age of contestant when making all clothing decisions. Those ages 12 and under cannot have backs open below the shoulder blades, anyone age 13 and up can have the back open as low as the waist.
NO BARE SHOULDERS/SPAGHETTI STRAPS..1” MINIMUM WIDTH ALL AGES!
Casual wear :
For all ages should be dressy or smart casual wear. Any shorts or pants suit that complements the contestant. NO Satin fabrics or Rhinestones of any kind including earrings, and NO Skirts or Swimsuits will be allowed. ~ for casual wear only!
Judging Guidelines:
Judges base decisions on your: poise, personality, stage presence, ability to communicate effectively and attitude. The judges are not searching for a “Miniature Adult” or “Vegas Showgirl”. Sexy & overdone clothing is not accepted. This competition is not based on how much money is spent on clothing. Expensive designer pageant dresses are not necessary. Our judges will be judging the contestant on their ability to capture their audience. Be yourself and have fun! Then the crown will be a wonderful added gift to bring home along with new friendships. THESE RULES WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED THIS YEAR....
I have learned alot this past year especially after attending the World pageant. All guidlines and rules will be enforced!
